Larches and Savick boxer Scott Fitzgerald is one of six England boxers to reach the Commonwealth games boxing finals today.
Fitzgerald booked his spot in the final of the men’s welterweight division with a victory over South African Tulani Mbenge – an opponent that Fitzgerald described as “really tricky”.
As a result, Fitzgerald will meet India’s Mandeep Jangra in the final of the competition on Saturday.
Fitzgerald said: “This is my first real competition, the experience is unreal – even just being here never mind that I am going to be in the final,” he added.
