Rising starts at the Larches and Savick Boxing Club all progressed well in the ABA North West contests this year.
The newest recruit to the Larches and Savick Boxing Club, Bria Fielding, reached the finals of the 58-60Kg junior female category. In a closely contested bout Bria lost on a split decision. Her disappointment was soon turned around when she was called up to the Team GB squad to box in Paris.
Bria is now the third member of the club to be with the Team GB squad, joining Scott Fitzgerald and Lisa Whiteside.
Matt Patel also reached the final of the junior boys 52-54Kg category. In another well contested bout Matt lost to his opponent from Sandygate Boxing Club in last years finals.
Reece Wright reached the semi finals of the NW ABA’s in the junior boys 50-52Kg category.
Head coach, Dave Fitzgerald said, “all our boxers did really well attending to their school exams as well as contesting the NW ABA finals. They are all well rounded young people with a passion for boxing. We are very proud of them.”
